Sentindo a chapa esquentar na concorrência de efemérides que teremos no ano que vem, Elvis Costello antecipou a comemoração do cinquentenário de seu primeiro disco e acaba de anunciar uma caixa que revisita o álbum em seu 49º aniversário, que compara com a história de origem de um super-herói, quando abandona seu nome de batismo – Declan MacManus – para assumir o pseudônimo que o tornou conhecido. My Aim Is True (49th Anniversary Edition) reúne 104 faixas do período do disco, divididas em cinco CDs, metade delas são inéditas e já está em pré-venda. Além do disco original remasterizado, a caixa ainda inclui faixas ao vivo, gravações caseiras, entrevistas, demos, takes alternativos e áudio de divulgação do disco, além de um encarte com 72 páginas com fotos (muitas inéditas), letras escritas à mão, páginas de um diário da época e textos assinados por nomes como Nick Lowe, Rosanne Cash, Peter Wolf, entre outros. Para atiçar a curiosidade dos fãs, ele antecipou duas dessas inéditas, diferentes versões ao vivo para o clássico “Watching the Detectives”.
