O de hoje é com o episódio anterior ao da semana passada, que conta como Jack, Hurley, Kate e Sayid voltaram para a ilha depois de partir. E amanhã comentamos o último episódio, He’s Our You. Lembra do esquema, né: baixa o MP3 pro mesmo computador onde você vai assistir o episódio e, quando no áudio a gente falar “play”, você aperta o play do programa em que você vai ver a série.
Depois de jogar o Dark Side of the Moon e o OK Computer na terra dos baixos pesados, ecos de percussão e névoa branca do dub, é a vez do Easy Star All-Stars se dedicarem a verter o disco clássico dos Beatles para estas paragens. À primeira audição, Easy Star All-Stars – Easy Stars Lonely Hearts Dub Band é OK, mas piora bem quando lembramos que isso é uma fórmula. Vários outros hits online também são, mas compare o trabalho que o Inri Christo tem pra fazer paródias cantadas por suas discípulas ou o de internautas anônimos ao regravar uma música transformando sua letra de forma a fazer paródia do clipe com o de produzir um disco inteiro… Tá na hora dos caras repensarem sua idéia, senão, em vez de soarem repetitivos, vão simplesmente ser esquecidos. Fora que, aqui pensando, que outro álbum merece esse tipo de homenagem?
The new record’s very different from Modern Times which was a number one hit. It seems like every time you have a big hit, the next time out you change things around. Why don’t you try to milk it a little bit? I think we milked it all we could on that last record and then some. We squeezed the cow dry. All the Modern Times songs were written and performed in the widest range possible so they had a little bit of everything. These new songs have more of a romantic edge.
How so? These songs don’t need to cover the same ground. The songs on Modern Times songs brought my repertoire up to date, and the light was directed in a certain way. You have to have somebody in mind as an audience otherwise there’s no point.
What do you mean by that? There didn’t seem to be any general consensus among my listeners. Some people preferred my first period songs. Some, the second. Some, the Christian period. Some, the post Colombian. Some, the Pre-Raphaelite. Some people prefer my songs from the nineties. I see that my audience now doesn’t particular care what period the songs are from. They feel style and substance in a more visceral way and let it go at that. Images don’t hang anybody up. Like if there’s an astrologer with a criminal record in one of my songs it’s not going to make anybody wonder if the human race is doomed. Images are taken at face value and it kind of freed me up.
O mestre Dylan prepara-se para o lançamento de mais um disco de inéditas e antecipa o lançamento com uma entrevista reveladora em seu saite oficial – longe das declarações enigmáticas tradicionais em suas conversas, ele chega a comentar que os próprios parentes lhe pedem canções em encontros de família.
