E esse disco novo do Deerhunter, Fading Frontier, saiu correndo em direção ao pódio de disco do ano, hein? É o álbum mais pop da banda mas isso não quer dizer que eles tenham abandonado seus instintos brutais e experimentalistas, como dá pra ver nessa apresentação que fizeram no Morning Becomes Eclectic, o clássico programa da rádio californiana KCRW no início do mês. Tocaram basicamente músicas do disco novo (à exceção de “Desire Lines”, que encaixou-se perfeitamente no clima de 2015 da banda) e esticaram a excelente “Snakeskin” num épico de minutos de microfonia e eletricidade – sem perder o groove.

O Spoon talvez esteja chegando a seu ápice criativo – seu novo They Want My Soul disparou para os primeiros lugares da minha lista pessoal de melhores discos de 2014. E basta ouvir pra entender o porquê – ouça-os no Morning Becomes Eclectic, da rádio KCRW, tocando “Inside Out” e “Rainy Taxi”, abaixo:
