A faixa que apresentou o trabalho solo deste hipster sudanês (guitarrista no Brooklyn nova-iorquino, já tocou com Of Montreal, Caribou, Yeasayer e Born Ruffians) ainda é seu principal trunfo – um delírio sossegado e groovy, com molhos afro, funk 70, indie e chillwave, esperando o Toro y Moi na ponta de lá da ponte que ele iniciou no EP Freaking Out.

Um feeling africano de verdade, não apenas superficial como o de muitos hipsters que seguem a trilha turista dos Paralamas do Sucesso em “Alagados”, Sinkane encorpa o freak folk com o mesmo groove que o Toro y Moi descobriu no EP Freaking Out. “Lovesick” chacoalha escorregadia e ensolarada, mesmo que tímida e preguiçosa – afinal, hispters são indies, em sua essência – e nem é o grande momento de sua estréia, Mars.
